Is there still room for written erotica in a world of image-based pornography? As it often does,
Vibrators.com says "yes!"
Thanks to the same internet that brought us "tube" videos of the next door neighbors having unattractive sex, the adult public now has unrestricted access to truly imaginative written descriptions of sexuality in progress.
"Everything that turns us on is locked inside our heads," said Tom Nardone, proprietor of Vibrators.com. "We're always looking for the key that releases the fantasy, that lets it run around naked in our brains.
"We've been lead to believe that images – photos and videos – are the best ways to unlock our fantasies. Occasionally they are, but not always. Sometimes it only takes a single word to release all the gooshy feelings we're looking to experience," he said.
While acknowledging that "gooshy" itself is not one of those words, or even a real word at all, Nardone pointed to an example that illustrates his point.
"We have begun publishing written erotica on Vibrators.com – completely free, of course. One story uses the word 'quivered.' Used in a sexual context, that word gives you something that you never see in porn – a sexiness that works on a vibrational level. It makes you remember times when you or someone you were with actually 'quivered' with desire or excitement. Anything that puts you in touch with a memory like that is worth more than all the porn on the Web."
Vibrators.com has published dozens of erotic short stories on its website, which also sells high quality sex toys. Collected in a "
Free Erotica" section of the site, the stories are introduced with short descriptions and excerpts to make certain the reader gets exactly what she wants.
"Our company – PriveCo Inc. – publishes quality erotica for e-readers such as Kindle, so we know what people are looking for," Nardone said. "We even took some of those erotic stories – published in our '
Readerotica' series, and made them available for no charge on the Vibrators.com site."
Nardone refused to speculate on suggestions that the erotica could be read while using some of the products sold on
Vibrators.com.
"PriveCo is the world's most private company, and we guard our customer's privacy completely," he said. "The products they buy and the stories they read are very personal matters. We don't get between our customers and their pleasure."
The erotica published on Vibrators.com includes descriptions of both straight and lesbian sex, as well as some bondage and food-related sexual situations. Each is easily read in a single sitting without downloading anything that might compromise the viewer's privacy or computer security.
"We welcome anyone over the age of 18 to visit Vibrators.com and see what we offer," Nardone said. "It's a very friendly website, accessible to both new and experienced users of vibrators and other sex toys. We don't publish pornography or offensive images so any adult curious to see what we're about is welcome."
